INDIGIE FEMME
You Taught Me To Love
I love you so much, no one will ever know,
Last night I had a dream, spirit always love,
Your accent from Vienna, took me to a place,
Passion for freedom, create what you see,
Chorus:
You filled the room with happiness,
I slept I was in heaven,
Thrilled to be with you again,
You taught me to love,
Seeker of visions, you came to him in a dream,
Opened a window, for the world to see,
Plight of Lakota, told from his eyes,
Mirror and reflection, cycles of our lives,
Chorus:
You filled the room with happiness,
I slept I was in heaven,
Thrilled to be with you again,
You taught me to love (2 xs)
You taught me to love,
You taught me to love,
You taught me to love...
Smile
Why . . . do you treat me so bad,
When you walk on by
Don't say nothing, I just smile,
There's a special place,
In your heart
For me,
I just smile
Chorus:
Mother Earth needs more love
Turn around this pain
We all have darkness
Left untamed
We need to smile
Why . . . you come to my town
Wanna a new life
Don't bring your shadow,
Old bad habits
Chorus:
Mother Earth needs more love
Turn around this pain
We all have darkness
Left untamed
We need to smile
There's a light that shines
Even flickers inside
There's that man, sitting on the edge, of the street
He needs, your smile
Lets just smile,
Give a smile . . .
That's what they said to do and I believe it
Feels better
Smile with the world x 4 (vocal only tapping)
Let the tears fall down
Shining Star
How much love can one hold, for a mother,
Who walked through life, you were always there,
Gave your heart and soul, for your children,
You've moved on now, I sing to you...
Chorus:
You're my rainbow, my shining star,
I think of you, when I look to the sky,
If one star equals, a child's love so true,
The Universe I'd give to you,
As a child, I was angry and jealous,
Paint on my hands, wrote on the walls,
Get your attention, friends played in the backyard,
Nations met to play in harmony
Chorus:
INSTRUMENTAL
I grew up and knew, to move away,
Deep down inside, I was not accepted
To run in circles around, NZ
Moved to Australia, good enough for me
Chorus: 1x
If one star equals a child's love so true,,
The universe I'd give to you...
My Friend
Where did I go wrong, last night at the party,
I drank too much again, my head is hurting,
Where is he, where is she now,
Where did they all go, why am I sitting her, all along again my friend,
So many years have gone by, but I'm still a child,
Wanting to run, wanting to hide,
Not wanting to pay my way today,
So I say, help me, help me, be free,
How do I sleep, how do I deal,
What do I do when I get off work, how do I date,
I'm too shy, I don't know why, my friend,
Now that the music has stopped,
The sun is shining, my curtain closed,
Question lingers,
Are you really my friend,
So I say, help me, help me, be free,
How do I sleep, how do I deal,
What do I do when I get off work, how do I date,
I'm too shy, I can't talk, I don't know why,
Are you really, my friend,
Are you really my friend,
Are you really..... my friend
Justify
In my man, I look around I wanna climb, to top of mountain,
And build, my road,
In my woman, I wanna hold, you in my arms, keep you warm,
Protected from force beyond control,
In my child, I want to heal,
From the past, no control,
Only what I see I wanna stop, looking back
Allow triggers, to run me
Chorus:
Justify my needs,
Justify my wants,
Justity my thoughts,
Justify my words, to make believe, I am strong
In my sister, I wanna own, my feelings, when I cry,
When I laugh, when I hide,
I want you, to be there,
I am strong
Chorus:
Justify my needs,
Justify my wants,
Justity my thoughts,
Justify my words, to make believe, I am strong
All in me
Release Me
Waiting for the calm
Waiting on the rain
Waiting to be free
Please, please release me
Blanket darkness fills the morning sky
Intense warmth builds in the still air
Thundering temper lashes as her fury builds
Only reason for frustration
Emotions are high
The loved ones always in the firing line
Please, please forgive me!
Waiting for the calm
Waiting on the rain
Waiting to be free
Please, please release me
Sweet smell of teardrops falls from heaven
Soul is cleansed and heart purified
Morning to clear blue endless sky
Is this beginning or the end
Loved one smile again
Knows my thought like the waiting rain
Please please believe me!
Waiting for the calm
Waiting on the rain
Waiting to be free
Please, please release me
(repeat)
Touch The Earth
Each time I try to find peace
Feelings aching far and deep
Unfinished from long ago
Same song sung no more
Take a breath, step outside
Feel the rain
Wet my hands feel my face
Touch the Earth
Painful journey unknown
It's a long way from home
Can we talk I need a friend
Same thoughts coming back again
Take a breath, step outside
Feel the rain
Wet your hands feel my face
Touch the Earth
INSTRUMENTAL
I see you I see me
Lines fill your face, talk to me
Look in the mirror we are still alive
So much more unseen
Take a breath, step outside
Feel the rain
Wet my hands feel my face
Touch the Earth
Take a breath, step outside
Feel the rain
Wet my hands feel my face
Touch the Earth
Wet my hands feel my face
Touch the Earth
Sacred Mountain Man
Navajo:
The sheep and goats are in lambing season,
We will be nourished,
My mother prays always for the livestock
Thank you
Up and down those trails again,
Cedar moves in the air,
Riding high with the wind,
Where the eagles fly high,
Every trail, every rock,
Look around, where did they go,
Dogs sniffing the air,
Looking for our sheep
Chorus:
Black Mesa Mountain man,
Forever in our hearts,
Sacred mountain man
Spirit flies free,
Gather wood look around,
Life is real, live your dream,
Grandmas prayers, design our land
Weaving her loom,
Beauty Way sacred mountain,
Untouched land quiet roads,
Footprints in the land,
Dancing with our clans,
Chorus:
Black Mesa Mountain man,
Forever in our hearts,
Sacred mountain man,
Spirit flies free,
Black Mesa Mountain man,
Forever in our hearts,
Sacred mountain man,
You are free
Navajo:
Since I was a little girl, I learned to weave,
I supported my children in this way,
The whole camp survived,
To this day this is what I know...
By My Silence (written by Ellen Bukstel & Nick Annis)
I'm not a Communist, so when they came for the Communists,
I held my tongue,
Like a good neighbor, I minded my own business,
And trusted justice be done,
I didn't ask, what was their crime,
It was their sadness, it wasn't mine,
I didn't care, where they were sent,
By my silence, I give my consent,
By my silencce, I gave my consent,
I'm not Jewish, so when they came for the Jews I had,
Nothing to say,
Branded with stars, like cattle in box cars then,
Taken away,
I didn't ask, what was their crime,
It was their sadness, it wasn't mine,
I didn't care, where they were sent,
By my silence, I gave my consent,
By my silence, I gave my consent,
I didn't care when they came for the Unionists,
Came for the Socialists, took the powerless,
I'm not a terrorist, I'm not an immigrant,
I'm native born, and faithfully ignorant,
I didn't care what was their crime,
Til their sorrow turned into mine,
Til their sorrow turned into mine,
I was okay, as I am a citizen,
And I am free,
I didn't care, now there's nobody left here to,
Speak out for me,
At the time, I believed, this would never happen to me,
I didn't know just what it meant,
For my silence, to give my consent,
For my silence, to be my consent,
By my silence, I give my consent,
By my silence...
